Institute for Serbian culture Prishtina \u2013 Leposavic<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

Institute for Serbian Culture Prishtina \u2013 Leposavic is a multi-disciplinary scientific institution with departments for Serbian language and literature, history, politicology, law, archeology, art history, ethnography, communicology, sociology. It has 69 employees (57 in the scientific sector and 12 in the administration). \n \n<\/p>\n\n

The scientific sector consists of associates, including 35 doctors of science (3 principal research fellows, 12 senior research associates, 18 research associates); 2 PhDs, research assistants, 1 PhD, expert advisor, 9 doctoral students, research assistants, 7 doctoral student, junior research \u0430ssistants and 5 doctoral students, associates.<\/p>\n\n

<\/p>\n\n

The Institute has existed since November 1987, when the Assembly of SAP Kosovo and Metohija passed the Law on the Establishment of the Institute for the Study of the Culture of Serbs, Montenegrins, Croats and Muslims, which is the original name of today\u2019s Institute for Serbian Culture \u2013 Pri\u0161tina \/ Leposavi\u0107. Prestigious scientific institutions in the country contributed to the determination of scientific research goals:\u00a0Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts<\/a>, Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts, Faculties of Philology and\u00a0Philosophy in Pristina<\/a>, Ni\u0161, Belgrade and Novi Sad, Albanological Institute in Pristina, as well as all independent scientific institutes in Belgrade and a large number of prominent scientists. It was decided that the Institute would be a multi-disciplinary scientific institution. Departments for Serbian language, literature, national history, art history, ethnological and ethno-musicological departments and a scientific-documentary center with a scientific library were established. Throughout its decades-long history, the Institute has evolved into a serious scientific institution that primarily deals with the study of Serbian culture on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.<\/p>\n\n
