Dr Ivan Becić, Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Serbian Culture, Priština–Leposavić, took part in this year’s event “Prota’s Oration”, organized by the Aleksinac Centre for Culture and Arts and the “Prota Stevan Dimitrijević” Technical School. The theme of this year’s oration was “Saint Dositej of Niš and Zagreb and His Time”, and the programme was carried out with the participation of the Niš presbyter Dalibor Midić and the chanting of the Teofilović Brothers.
In his presentation, Dr Ivan Becić spoke about the historical, social, economic, and spiritual circumstances in which Prota Stevan Dimitrijević and Saint Dositej of Niš and Zagreb lived and worked, outlining the context of their time and helping to sketch a comprehensive picture of the era in which, as priests, sufferers, and educators of the Serbian people, they left a deep and lasting mark.
