Dr Marija Jeftimijević Mihajlović was born in Kosovska Mitrovica on 13.07.1978.

She graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Pristina in 2001, at the Department of Serbian Literature and Language, as a student of the generation (with an average grade of 9.15), with the topic „Lyrical Discourse in Ivo Andrić’s Novels“. She defended her master’s thesis entitled Poetics of Branko Miljković in 2009 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Pri[tina, with a temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica. She received her doctorate from the same faculty in 2016, with the topic Stylistic and thematic features of Petar Sarić’s novels.

She has been working at the Institute for Serbian Culture – Pri[tina since 2002, first as a research trainee, then as a research associate, and she was elected a scientific associate in 2017. She was first engaged in the project Historical and national basis of spiritual and material culture of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija (ev. No. 101106) from 2002-2005, then in the project Spiritual phenomena and creativity of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija from the XV to XX century (ev. No. 148020) for the period 2006–2010, and starting from 2010 on the project Spiritual and Material Culture of Kosovo and Metohija, where as a member of the commission she actively participated in project creation.

The results of work and scientific engagement on these projects are four monographs and almost a hundred scientific papers, articles and reviews. She is the editor of several thematic collections and scientific monographs, a participant in numerous domestic and international scientific conferences, a member of the editorial board of the journal „Baština“ and a reviewer in journals of leading national importance. In addition to her engagement in the subproject „Serbian Novel in Kosovo and Metohija“, within which she studied all relevant novelists and their works in this field, she is also engaged in comparative studies of Serbian and Russian literature, the results of which are an anthology of Russian poetry, several scientific papers on the reception of lesser-known Russian writers in the Serbian public, as well as participation in the III Congress of the Russian Religious Society („(„Религия и религии: дискурсы и практики“), at the Russian State Pedagogical University Herzen in St. Petersburg 4-6.10. 2019, with the topic „Orthodox view of the world of F. M. Dostoevsky. „

Dr Jeftimijević speaks Russian and uses English. She writes poetry and loves to paint.
